Okay guys. Wow wow wow do I have a story for you. I promise you won’t be dissapointed!! It’s a story I couldn’t wait to share with you guys because it gave me so much motivation and hope!! Okay here goes:
There was a man that was born in New York named David. He grew up in the Bronx and had a basic belief in Jesus Christ when he moved to Puerto Rico. While in Puerto Rico, he saw some missionaries getting rejected by his neighbor, and had compation for them. He let them into his home and listened to their message. Just a month later, he was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Just a month later, he was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Since he wasn’t working, he went out with the missionaries all the time!! He spent a ton of time taking care of the missionaries like they were his children. He bought them groceries, he fed them, he protected them, and he shared his testimony with people they taught. He supported all of the missionaries in every way, and he began to see how hard missions were for these young men. He made strong connections with each of these missionaries as he talked to them about their struggles and their families back home.
David eventually moved back to the united States, and fell in love with a woman named Maria. They were married in 1998 and after just a year of living together, they moved to separate houses. For whatever reason, they did not live together for a long time. Many years later, they decided that they would buy a house together and start a new beginning!! Although both of them were members of the church, they hadn’t gone to church in many many years. They both believed and valued the church, but fell out of the weekly church routine.
The day after they bought the house, they were talking with each other and wanted to bless the house before they moved into it. They said a prayer and asked for angels to be with them as they blessed their house the next day.
Well the following day, they met at a chinese restauraunt they both loved. As they were waiting for their food, David turned to talk to his wife, and saw two missionaries carrying furniture into a house just down the road! He was flooded with memories of working and helping the missionaries in Puerto Rico, and immediately felt like his prayer for angels was answered! He went and got the missionaries when they were finished helping this family, and bought them lunch. He told the missionaries that his wife and him were on the way to bless the new house, and asked for their help! The missionaries told them they did not have a conflicting lesson, and were glad to help with this happy event!
While they were eating together, David told the missionaries about his expieriences working with missionaries in Puerto Rico! He told these missionaries about how he cared for them and always wanted to feed and help in any way he could. He told them how he prayed for angels the night before, and God had answered his prayer. As he was explaining his prayer, the spirit came so strong and all four of these people started to tear up. They knew that his prayer was answered, and all four of them were so happy to be a part of this expierience.
These missionaries helped bless the house, helped this couple move the next day, and were extatic to be the answer to this couples prayers. The couple decided that they would start coming to church again, renew their vows with each other, and use this expierience as a motivation to start fresh. David told the missionaries that he wanted to work with them, feed them, and support them just like he did with the missionaries in Puerto Rico.
Okay so that was a pretty cool story right? The missionaries were just down the street when this couple was on the way to bless their house!! This couple was going to start going to church, remembering God more in their life, etc… all because these missionaries were in the right place at the right time to answer his prayer. Now here is the coolest part!
MY COMPANION AND I WERE THESE MISSIONARIES!!! We had this amazing experience just working one day in southern Reading!! It was amazing to be able to meet this couple and help them bless their house. I have no doubt that we were tools in the hands of the Lord, and that we were sent to inspire those members.
Anyways other than that super cool story, the work has been good. We have really helped people remember their savior this week, and we have worked really really hard despite a lot of struggle.
I hope that you guys had a wonderful week and I am so grateful for all of your support! Thank you for not spoiling the new Avengers movie. I am literally so excited to watch it in a few hundred days.. hahaha. You all are in my prayers, and I just am so humbled by how much support I have compared to some of the missionaries I’ve met. I love you all and I can’t wait to hear from you this week!
