Week 15!!!

Hey everyone this week was awesome!! It was so busy every single day we were constantly working!! A lot times I can’t remember everything I did in the week, so before writing my weekly email I look through my pictures and journal to remind myself hahaha.

Well our busy week started on Tuesday morning when we had district counsel! We packed an overnight bag too, because we thought we had exchanges. Echanges are when missionaries swap companions for a day and learn new vocabulary, new ideas, and new areas from a different companion!

Well at district counsel we found out we did not have exchanges, and that we packed our bags and sheets for nothing.. But at district counsel, we talked about the dificulties Spanish people have in the States and how we can help them overcome those challenges.

Wednesday was a super fun day! We had a lesson with Iris about 3 Nephi 11 and invited her to church on Sunday! She is looking forward to getting baptized later this month! Wednesday night we also made a little salt lake temple! I’ll tell more about it later!

On Thursday I got up at 5:00 and got ready for the day. My comp got up and got ready a little after. By 7:00 we were on the road to Broomall, PA for Zone conference! Zone Conference was amazing!! We got to learn a ton about Unity, Goals, and Selflessness! We also got to learn a lot about the new Tiwi System!

Tiwi is another name for Satan. Tiwi is a little box that sticks on the windshield of every missionaries car, and tells us whenever we are being bad. She tells us if we are driving above the speed limit, if we take a turn too hard, if we brake too hard, or if we accelerate too fast. She helps the cars stay nice, and she helps keep the missionaries lives safe, but unfortunately she is not very popular.

On Friday we served. That’s about it. We went to a clothing donation center Friday morning and helped keep the racks clean and organized. People go there twice a month to get new clothes and books!! After that, we went to a members house and helped him move some furniture so he could clean his carpet! Then while they were cleaning his carpet, we cut his grass for him and trimmed it. Elder warden was a beast behind the weed whacker, while I sipped some coca cola and occasionally swept the sidewalk clean Haha. There’s some cool pictures coming! Later in the day, we had dinner and then served some more. Our ward had a huge temple/genealogy activity on Saturday, and we helped set up for it. 12 tables, 72 chairs, tablecloths, centerpieces, chair covers, curtains, platters, drinks and cups, this place was gorgeous!

On Saturday we helped move an elderly woman into an apartment, and my companion and I worked so hard. We did not stop once, and we had a smile on our face the entire time. Serving all these people and working hard is such a great feeling. I love the spirit of service and how we feel when we help others. The church always teaches us to help others and to serve.

Saturday night we had the Temple Activity! There were a lot of non-members that came, including Lidianali, her mom, her sister, 2 of her friends! Also we had some inactive members there! Andy, his friend, and David all came and learned about the temple and why the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is so interested in genealogy!

Sunday at church Iris came!! So did David and his wife, along with Lidianali and her friend!!! We were so happy to see all of them making friends and enjoying learning about Jesus Christ. Sunday night we had a dinner with the Orantes family! They are pretty cool, and the Argentinean dish she made was amazing. We also got to share a message with them about Service and asked for opportunities to serve them!

Overall this week was Service, Lessons, and a big ward activity, and I can honestly say it was the best week of my mission so far. We were going every second from 6:30 to 9:00 and it is such a blessing to be able to serve without distractions. I know that all of my work here will bless the lives of the people. I know that everyone has the light of Christ in them, and that we can follow his example by serving others. I invite you all to look for opportunities to serve this week, no matter how big or small it may be. I am learning every week to love the people of Reading, the Spanish Culture, and my Savior. I love you all so much and I know that you will be blessed for all of the support you give me. I would love to hear from you this week and feel free to email me any time!
