Week 24
Week 23 was nothing short of BALLER! Possibly the G.O.A.T. Now we are starting week 24 Lemme tell you all about it!!
Okay boom so Tuesday we went to district counsel in Allentown! Then we did exchanges there! I was with District Leader Dummer and we taught a bunch of lessons. He is a fantastic missionary and has been working hard every day up to his dying day. (He is going home this Wednesday!!)
On Wednesday we woke up at 5:50, skrted to the church building to play basketball! It was such a blast to play with these elders and break their ankles!! Wednesday Elder Warden and I traveled home to Reading, taught a lesson to Iris, and then had an early dinner with a member named Hermano Leon!
Thursday we got up, studied, contacted people, and then had Lidis Baptism!! There were a lot of people there to support her, and she said she felt really really good afterwards. Then we had a mini fiesta afterwards with food and drinks and lots of mingling haha.
Friday was a super cool day! We played basketball with a bunch of our investigators which was so fun, and one of them (Eric) was even in a wheelchair and still was splashing threes!!! Afterwards, we taught a lesson about repentance and how we can recieve remission of our sins! It was a great lesson and we are looking forward to having more and more attend our basketball night in the future!
Saturday was dope! We had ward correlation meeting in the morning, but our Ward mission leader could not make it. So instead, we found ourselves exploring the Berkshire Building a little bit! Then, my companion and I went to the Pagoda and walked the 87 steps to the 7th floor! It has an incredible view of the city of Reading!
Sunday was a great day! We had an investigator come to church named Juliana!! She has really changed her view on the Church ever since she found out she was friends with a member! She loved the service and even offered to feed the missionaries this week!
Sunday night my companion and I went over to Lidianalis house because unfortunately she did not make it to church for her confirmation! She was at a relative’s house out of town, and we were patient with her about it. She said she will definitely be there next week to recieve the holy ghost! After our little lesson with Lidi, we anxiously waited for our call about transfers.
We got a call from the Zone Leaders, and we were surprised to heat Alex Inhof on the phone (14 year old member we take out with us sometimes) “Elders. This is Alex. I have the news. Are you ready?” We replied “Yes tell us who is staying?” “Elder Warden is staying”
All I could get out was “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” I was bummed out to be leaving but also excited for a change in things. We thanked him for the call, and then told Lidi, Marieli, and the Ortiz Family the news. For the rest of the night I packed all of my possessions into my suitcases..
Today has been great! We cleaned the apartment really well! We also shopped, got haircuts, and then we are going to take some pictures! Tomorrow (Tuesday) I will be able to see my new Area and Companion! Then we head out to Broomall, make our companion exchanges, and go back to working!!
I’m really looking forward to this week! It should be full of action and excitement hahaha! I cant wait to tell you guys next week where I end up! Anyways have a fantastic week everyone and if youd like to read any of my past emails or see my photos from Reading, the MTC, and before, check out ElderPetty.com!! I love you all so much and I’m so grateful for you! God bless!
