Week 26!!!

Hey everyone how are you?! This week was one of the best weeks I’ve had on my mission!! I have been so busy nonstop this week and we saw some really cool miracles. Let me tell you some highlights!!

On Tuesday, we had our first district counsel of this transfer, and it was really good! We have 6 Elders in our district: Elder Rasmussen (District Leader,) Elder Anderson, Elder Tan, Elder Baker, Elder Cox, and I. Elders Anderson and Baker are brand new missionaries and they know so much Spanish it’s really impressive! Tuesday night we worked hard contacting our investigators and some inactive members, and then worked on some things for a big English Class initiative that Elder Cox has been working on.

On Wednesday we went to Philadelphia to the Zone leaders apartment. We all hopped in the car and carpooled to Broomall. In Broomall, we had a meeting with the senior missionaries that work in the mission office. We shared our goals and plans for the English Classes that we are going to start all across the mission, and explained what we needed help with from the mission office. After our meeting, one of the Senior Missionaries offered to take us out to lunch and he bought us all Qdoba!! Then we went back to Philadelphia, got our car, drove to a dinner appointment where a member bought us Chinese food, then we shared a spiritual message and left an invitation, and went to another meeting about a big devotional we are putting together for September 1st!!

On Thursday we weekly planned, talked about all of the people we are teaching and made some good goals and plans for each of them. Then we went contacting, talked to some investigators, set up some return appointments, and then traveled to Atlantic City for an exchange with the District Leader!

On Friday we woke up early so that we could all go play basketball together! We drove to the church building and played a basketball game called 21! It was so fun and Elder Rasmussen is super good! Then we had all of our studies, and went to work! Elder Rasmussen is really really positive and a really hard worker. We had a great exchange and taught some really powerful lessons. Elder Rasmussen speaks really good Spanish! OH and something cool, he was Elder Wardens companion in the MTC!!!

On Saturday and Sunday, it was kind of a blur. Lessons cancelled, unexpected lessons came up, but somehow it all worked out perfectly. I was really stressed that we weren’t going to have enough time, but somehow all of our plans worked and it was just amazing. Its small miracles like these that really help you see God’s hand in your life. Even though our schedule was a mess and packed full, the Lord made sure that we were able to touch the lives of all the people that needed us those days.

I want to tell you about one of these lessons in particular. Elder Cox and I have been really busy working, and have not been able to do much finding this week. But when we evaluate the work we are doing, we truly believe it is the best way we can use our time to fulfill the missionary purpose and help this little Spanish Branch. Because we have been working hard, the Lord blessed us with a Bible referral! We brought a Spanish Bible to a woman that requested one, and offered to share a quick spiritual thought. She accepted our invitation and invited us in. She told us why she wanted a bible and explained that she struggles with mental health and thinks that finding Religion would help her find peace and happiness. We shared the Book of Mormon with her and taught her the Restoration. She loved our message and accepted a copy of the Book of Mormon. We invited her to find out for herself if it is true, and offered her whatever help she needed to reach her goals. She thanked us profusely for our message and felt the spirit very strong. We testified that the warm loving peace that we felt was the Holy Ghost testifying of the truthfulness of our message.

I have been really busy and really happy ALL this week, but that lesson was the highlight of this week. Time seemed to slow down, and the Spirit was so strong. We are really looking forward to teaching this woman more and helping her improve her life.

I love this Gospel, and I love the Book of Mormon. It teaches us so much about Jesus Christ and truly helps us see the fullness of His doctrines. I invite you all to read in the Book of Mormon and see for yourself if it is true or not. I know that once you get your witness that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, you will know that God really loves all of his children and that he has sent more prophets just like in times of old. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

I love you all so much and can’t wait to tell you about my next week. It is already PACKED full of exchanges, Zone Conferences, appointments, and much more! Have a great week everyone!

I’ve been super busy and haven’t done a lot of picture worthy things, but we did go to Texas Roadhouse one night for dinner and Elder Cox was a very happy boy! Enjoy!!!
