Week 30
Wow everyone this week was a rush!! So many things happened and I have so much to update you guys on!!
On Monday was Elder Cox and My last P-Day together, so we went down to Cape May to celebrate! We went to the beach, got some fudge, and got some cape may T-Shirts!!
On Tuesday morning, we loaded up Elder Cox’s bags and headed to Broomall! We took some pictures, I gave him a biiig hug, and off he went. It was really sad, I really learned so much from him and I love him. My new temporary companion was named Elder Gilbert from Gilbert Arizona! He was so funny and has great Spanish!! We went back to Vineland together Tuesday after transfers and then back up to Broomall on Thursday to pick up our Trainees.
Thursday morning, we all marched into the Gym in our church in two big lines. One big line of Trainers, and one big line of New Missionaries! One by one, our names were called off and we walked into the middle and gave our new companion a big hug! I walked out and met my new companion, Elder Macrum!
Elder Macrum is from Layton, Utah, 18 years old, and a great young missionary! He loves to play basketball, learn Spanish, and rumor has it that once he climbed up the side of a mountain in Peru on a Goat.
Elder Macrum knows a ton of Spanish for just being a missionary for 6 weeks in the MTC! Like a ton of Spanish! I can speak to him all in Spanish and he can understand me! We are just working on the teaching and speaking!!
This weekend was full of a bunch of miracles!! I was blessed with the gift of tongues so much! In all of our lessons and with all of the people we met, I was completely fluent and I was able to comunicate very effectively with them.
We are going to have a baptism this Saturday! Jose Luis Jimenez told us a few weeks ago that after about 10 years of going to church, that he felt ready to be baptized! I am so excited to say that we have been working diligently with him and that he is going to be baptized this Saturday!! Things have moved very fast but he has found answers to all of his questions and he tells us that he can feel the spirit confirming that what we are teaching really are the teachings of Jesus Christ.
This weekend we were blessed to find 4 new people! One man named Manuel let us in right when we knocked on his door! Another guy named Nate opened up to us after we read the scripture Ether 12:27 on his doorstep. He said he was going through a hard time, and that he wants us to come over and share more with him! Another guy named Joel accepted the invitation to read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if it was true! And lastly, when we were teaching a lesson to Hermana Mariluz, her Nephew came sat with us and loved our message. He asked us for a Book of Mormon and said he wants to be baptized when he is ready!
Elder Macrum has grown so much in these last few days. I feel so blessed that the Lord gave me such a prepared, diligent missionary as my trainee. I hope you all have a fantastic week. I am going to try to be batter about responding to your emails, I know I’ve been slacking a bit!
I love you all and can’t wait to hear back from you! Please tell me how you are doing and ask me any questions you have!!
